Welcome Message from the Chair
It is my great honour and pleasure to welcome you on behalf of the Organizing Committee to the 2019 International Symposium on Automation and Robotics in Construction (ISARC), which marks the 36th anniversary of ISARC, in the beautiful town of Banff, Alberta, Canada. We look forward to this exciting event, which will encourage networking among academics, practitioners, and industry stakeholders.
Modular and offsite construction technology has a number of advantages over current onsite stick-built construction, including increased productivity, reduced costs and construction time, higher quality products, healthier environments for workers and occupants, and decreased environmental footprint.
As modular and offsite technology evolves, stakeholders need to be informed and engaged at every phase of the construction project in order to promote a change in construction culture. To address this need, The 2019 MOC Summit provides an opportunity for delegates to share their knowledge and expertise regarding the opportunities and challenges associated with implementing modular and offsite construction technology.
ISARC 2019 boasts a strong program with plenary sessions, multiple parallel tracks, and featuring speakers who are experts in their fields. Through participation in interactive sessions and workshops, delegates will challenge current policies and practices, and discuss how to improve project efficiency and productivity. Specific topics encompass industry 4.0 for construction, production planning and analysis in offsite construction, design for sustainability in offsite construction, BIM applications in offsite construction, mass timber panels, case studies and lessons learned in offsite construction.
We are also pleased to welcome the 2019 Modular and Offsite Construction (MOC) Summit, the International Conference on Construction and Real Estate Management (ICCREM), and the Innovation in Construction Forum (ICF), being held in conjunction with our event.
We thank you for participating and look forward to meeting you at ISARC 2019 as together we endeavor to build a resilient future.
